Treasury Tuesday: Purple Fiend by PeachesProducts

I can't take credit for this week's treasury. I decided to share the love and occasionally feature treasuries by other RNEST members, since they make some gorgeous ones! This amethyst-hued beauty was compiled by our own Peaches Products and features two RNESTers...The Quilted House and KiraArts (me!). I'm loving the purple color scheme!

Treasury Tuesday: I'll Fly Away (plus a Bonus Treasury!)

If you get to know a few of our RNEST Members, you'll find out that some of them have a special place in their hearts for birds. This soft spot for feathered friends is often manifested in the pieces they make. This treasury features work from RNEST members Peaches Products, SunShyne Silverwear, In My Head Studios, Merv and Delores, and JackBear Stamps... and is filled out by other Etsy artists.

BONUS TREASURY:
Last week, when I was trying to think of a good theme for this week's Etsy Treasury, I happened to look at the calender and realized that today was 1/11/11...which inspired me to make this treasury with items with ones and elevens...

Sadly, I couldn't find any RNEST members' items to put in this treasury as I'd originally planned (which is why this is a bonus treasury instead of the main treasury), but I went ahead and scoured the rest of Etsy for items with ones or elevens (or 2011). And even with the thousands of sellers on Etsy to choose from, this theme was still a bit challenging.

Happy 1/11/11!

Jack's Pick: Hoot Owl Hat by Duncan Creative

Each Friday I select an item created by a member of the Rochester NY Etsy Street Team(RNEST). What criteria do I use? I look for great looking items that I think are well made offered for a great price!

The chill is now in the air in Rochester, and we all are starting to think about Fall, and that unthinkable word...winter. We start breaking out the warmer cloths, start drinking more warm beverages, and start settling in for the long dark nights.

Sound depressing? Well, just look at this hat and you won't want to wait for the cold weather! You will be begging for a cold day to wear it! Karen of Duncan Creative has crocheted this adorable "Nobody Gives a Hoot Owl" hat from acrylic yarn, and can be ordered in any size, for kids or adults.

I like this hat because I like owls, and birds. I like hats with ear flaps. I like the friggin' cute kids modeling these hats...I mean how big is that grin! I think this hat may have magical powers to make you smile.

Jack's Pick: Purple Patchwork Owl by Peach Products

Each Friday I select an item created by a member of the Rochester NY Etsy Street Team (RNEST). What criteria do I use? I look for great looking items that I think are well made offered for a great price!

This week I have selected a cute little guy made by Casey of Peach Products. He is a handmade purple patchwork Saw Whet Owl stuffie. A Saw Whet Owl, for those of you who have never seen one of these little adorable creatures, is only 6-8 inches tall, and weighs about 3 oz.!

Casey is an amazing artisan who brings these little treasures to life. She is an expert needle felter also, and creates incredible little creatures in her etsy shop. Casey knows these little owls so well because she also volunteers as a bird bander for owls for the Braddock's Bay Raptor Research organization in Rochester, NY

I own one of Peach Product's little own stuffies, as well as an owl pillow in my daughters room.

Thanks Casey, these are wicked awesome!
