Jack's Pick: Kira Arts and Peach Product OWLS!

Each Friday I select an item created by a member of the Rochester NY Etsy Street Team(RNEST). What criteria do I use? I look for great looking items that I think are well made offered for a great price!

OK, so I'm going to do something I haven't done before. I'm going to pick two items this week. That's right, two for the price of one. Well, maybe not two for one, but you know what I mean.

So Jackbear, why two items you ask? Well, Kira from KirArts and Casey from Peach Products are both going to be at a radical arts and craft show this Sunday at the Red-Tail Days at Braddock's Bay (I'm going to be there too, yeah me). And they both make stuffed owls.
Wait, isn't a Red-Tail a kind of hawk? Why yes, yes it is. And they are migrating now through Braddock's Bay by the hundreds, and if the wind is from the right direction, and the thermal air currents they ride are just right, you may see hundreds of them. But even if you don't, you can check out these stuffed OWLS! The owls are taking over the Red-Tail Day (I will have owl stamps to, but this isn't really about me is it?)

If you can't attend, shame on you, but go and buy KirArt's owl made from a white sweater, or Peach Product's back and white patchwork owl, before they get sold on Sunday!

Wednesday Wellspring: Red Tail Days

Congratulations to Jenny Bolech for winning the very cute owl stuffie from Peaches Products!

If you are local and you're looking for more owl, stamp, and jewelry creativity, check out the Braddock Bay Raptor Research Red Tail Days event this Sunday, August 22nd. It's a great family event with a selection of craft vendors organized by Peaches Products. And you'll find several other lovely RNESTers there: JackBear Stamps, Beadwork by Amanda, and Beauty in the Eye!

Wednesday Wellspring: MayDay!

Congratulations to The Quilted House for winning this month's Earth Day team challenge with her upcycled denim bowl! (Yes, that's me! Yippee!!) Next month's theme is Mother's Day, so, team, get to creating!

Now, bubbling up from the well this Wednesday is the event no local Rochesterian will want to miss this weekend: MayDay! Underground Art + Crafts!! This promises to be the coolest, hippest, most with it show Rochester has ever seen and I think I can speak for the rest of the RNEST participants (as well as the other vendors) when I say we're all bringing out best, funkiest crafts that you really won't want to miss!

We'll see you all at 416 St. Paul Street, 10 - 6 this Saturday. Grab a coupon and don't forget that the first 30 guests will receive a free swag bag full of goodies from many of the vendors - I know I offered up some real goodies, so you'll want to be sure to come early!

Wednesday Wellspring: Beadwork by Amanda

The well is bubbling over with the excitement of being able to bring you what you requested: a giveaway from Beadwork by Amanda!!

Amanda is giving away any pendant in her shop, valued up to $17.50 - yes, indeed, that includes several gorgeous circuit pendants that you were all so interested in! And here's a little more information about how Amanda creates these upcycled works of art:

Recycled circuit boards are hand cut and ground into a variety of shapes. The boards rest in bezel cups and are covered in clear resin. These circuit pendants also work excellent as key chains.

Now, in addition to being an artisan of amazing beadwork and upcycled creations, Amanda is also planning and hosting a new, indie arts and crafts show: MayDay! Underground. Located right in the heart of downtown Rochester on May Day (May 1st), this show promises to be a feast for the eyes, ears, and soul with lots of beautiful and unique crafts and works of art, plus live bands! Check out the site and apply to be a vendor if you're a local artist or grab a coupon and plan to attend if you're in the area!

Now, for the giveaway rules (This giveaway is open INTERNATIONALLY!!):
MANDATORY ENTRY #1: Go to Beadwork By Amanda, heart the shop, and then leave a comment here telling me your favorite item.
